School Nutrition Program

The school’s nutrition program (breakfast & lunch) is an important part of the education program. All students should have breakfast before beginning their academic day.  Later in the day, it is important that they eat lunch. Food service is outsourced to Orleans Parish School Board (OPBS).

Students taking part in the breakfast program should arrive to school at 7:30 a.m. The Warrior Café serves breakfast from 7:30 to 7:55 a.m. Parents who walk or drive their children to school, should ensure that they are here before 8:00 a.m. if they are going to partake in the breakfast meal. Students arriving late to school will miss the opportunity to take part in the breakfast program. The school’s instructional day begins at 8:00 a.m.

Students may bring lunch (or breakfast) from home. However, no canned or bottled soft drinks are allowed in the school’s cafeteria. Students who bring breakfast or lunch to school must comply with the state and federal regulations for the Food Service Operation of the cafeteria. Students are not allowed to eat “fast food meals” in the Warrior Café (see pages 3, 10-11 of the Family Handbook for additional information).
