When are volunteers needed and how do I become a volunteer at FCWCS?

Volunteers do a variety of things at schools all across the USA. Some assist in the classroom, during field trips off campus, help out with such activities as book fairs and school festivals, chaperone middle school dances after school–and here in New Orleans–chaperone students in Mardi Gras Parades.

Classroom teachers often reach out to parents for assistance for field trips. We are definitely in need of parents willing and able to walk the seven miles or so that is part of our yearly festivities called the Carnival Season. Can you help?

All volunteers must submit to a background check, just as school personnel do to secure employment (according to the regulations of the Recovery School District). Read the information below for details:
