Dear Parents/Guardians

New Orleans Public Schools has granted Fannie C. Williams Charter a three year extension of its charter. We are happy to be given the opportunity to keep our school open to every student wanting to enroll in our institution.

Initially, we were covered by the Recovery School District. July 1, 2018 all charter schools were returned to NOLA Public Schools. As part of the NOLA Public School System, all charters participate in a routine evaluation process during the last year of the charter operating agreement (referred to as a “renewal”). We operate under our governing board C.L.A.S.S. (Community Leaders Advocating Student Success). The charter agreement is between C.L.A.S.S. and the Orleans Parish School Board.

The Charter School Accountability Framework was the basis for the decision regarding our renewal. There was also a review on how well we have compiled with federal, state, local laws and policy. Information regarding the criteria for their decision can be found at the website opsb.us.

Once again, thank you for entrusting the educational needs of your child(ren) with us. We will continue to collaborate with parents and the community to make our school a positive place to learn and grow for all scholars in our care.

CEO/Principal
