The Pelicans returned to campus on January 29th to introduce a new reading incentive program for students in grades third and fourth.

The “King of the Classroom” Reading Program is being sponsored by the King Law Firm (thus the name) and the New Orleans Public Organization to encourage reading for students in third and fourth grades.

Reading is one of the most important skills a student can acquire in school. The goal of the program presented to our students is to encourage recreational reading–reading for pleasure. Teachers will keep a tab on the number of books each of their scholars have read for the next two months. Prizes will be awarded to those students who have read the most books by the first week in April.
